I am writing on behalf of my Mother Kathleen W. Sisson (email - kwsnak@gmail.com) to advise of my father's death. He was a member of the Kitty Hawk's original crew when commissioned 29 April 1961 thus a plank owner.
Ret. Senior Chief Edward S. Sisson passed away 30 November 2015 2 days short of his 86th birthday.
If your father was attached to VA 113 on the Kitty Hawk, then I knew him very, very well. I admired and respected him as a leader and a family man. A Chief Sisson was my chief at VA 113. Ron Marks
Ronald. The 1961 Cruise Book has E. S. Sisson, AC1 in OC Division. His Division Officer was CDR Curtis. I knew him. Sisson was one for some reason missed the photo along with LCDR Paul A. Peck, Asst. Air Officer. LCDR Peck and CDR John M. Thomas, XO made the first take off from the flight deck of the Kitty Hawk in the ships TF. They were on a mail run for the crew if my memory is right. Great crew.
