I am working on an appeal for my late husband who served on the Kitty Hawk for 2 tours from 1966 to 1969. Where do I look to find out if the Kitty Hawk was in the Da Nang Harbor? Tom talked about it much but I need proof. I am appealing the case because I cannot prove he set foot on ground in Vietnam, though he was on Flight Deck duty. He told me one story where he was told to get into a helicopter to fly over and help bring in wounded from Vietnam, again no record. In 2009 he passed away at the age of 62-Lung Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Diabetes II, Hepatitis and the only claim they granted was for his PTSD.
