I remember wearing whites in Subic Bay and the streets were oiled to keep down the dust from all the Taxi traffic. That would always be the days when the bars would water down the streets and you would end up with 2 inches of oil spots and these never came clean in the ships laundry. I would take pair of whites out to the fan tail and tie a rope through the belt loops and through the crotch and drag the pants of 20 minuets while I was writing letters home. Always a sight to see the ships lights reflecting on the
prop surge.
