My father is recently deceased, and he was a Flight Officer on the Kittyhawk. I have some of his ribbons and medals from his DD-214, and I purchased some others that I couldn't find among his things. Other than the medals from his heavy attack squadron, what over things should go in a shadow-box other than his rank (brass) or other paraphernalia specific to the Kittyhawk?
Any suggestions will be helpful.
Also, he had an Air Medal with two stars and a Vietnam Service Medal with three stars. I have the medals for those, but where do I get the stars from to attach to the medals?
Since you have his dd214 you have the main thing. I ordered my shadow box items from medals of America. Com . They also have a catalog. I put my dog tags ribbons medals ships patches and a picture. Medals of Americas catalog has some great pictures .good luck shipmateshipmate
