injury aboard Kitty Hawk in march of 1963

I WAS HIT IN THE FACE WITH A TYPE WRITER during heavy weather while serving on the USS Kitty Hawk in the CR Division in MARCH of 1963. IT RESULTED IN A BROKEN NOSE, INJURYS TO MY LOWER BACK, NECK AND LEFT ANCKLE. I AM TRYING TO GET COMPENSATION FOR THESE INJURIES. I NEED A LETTER- MEMO, OR AT LEAST SOMETHING IN WRITING STATING KNOWLEDGE OF THE EVENT. IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE, JUST THAT YOU HEARD OF THE EVENT. THIS HAS LEFT MY LEFT LEG TEMPORARILY PARALYZED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. I have been advised by
two Doctors that surgery could result in permanent or total paralysis.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry for your pain and discomfort.......but you are talking about an accident that happened a half century ago. Didn't you go through a physical exam just before your discharge? What does your Navy medical records say about this?
