While you are up there, why not go to the Hawk and video some of the areas that they say have markings from the USS Constellation. There are several places, none documented. This, if proven, would rekindle an old rumor of the ships names being changed mid-way (bad choice of words) through the build.

I'll bet there are many here with their own "locations". I've heard that the hause-pipes where the anchor chain goes through the hull had CVA-64 marked on it. The mast? The keel, the rudders.

I'll look and see if I have any photos of the TJ. I was on the USS Buchanan DDG-14 in San Diego from 1980-1981. We used to dock at the same pier with the USS Turner Joy at the 32nd Street Naval Station and I may have some photos of the two ships docked together if you are interested.
