I agree with Allan. I was on the ship from 1961 to April 1964 and we were in Okinawa where i flew off with 6 other guys to the island after the ship left port. We were on our way back to the states.If there was any hostile pay involved while i was on board they sure owe me some money and a lot of others. The only extra i remember is sea duty pay. Hope you get a good answer.

We where off Viet Nam in 64 during the month of April, but I do not believe we got combat pay for
that short stint. Our cruise in 65-66 we received combat pay when we where off North Viet Nam for combat flight operations against targets in the North.
