Seeking former shipmates of YN2 Law Risken Jr. (1982 - 1986)

ATTN: All Past & Current CV-63 Officers & Men:

I regret to inform you that on 18 APRIL 2006, CDR. Law L. Risken Jr., USN (Ret.) was Murdered in Cavite, R.P., in a hit style killing that remains under investigation, by our FBI & the R.P.PNP/NBI/Interpol.
For known details, see > www.dailybreeze.com < and
do a simple breeze site search for "Risken."

After enlisted service as a YN2, CDR Risken Jr. gained
a Commission in 1988, from the WSU ROTC program. At
the time of his murder, CDR. Risken was a much loved and respected Special Education High School Teacher, at Lawndale High School, Lawdale, CA.

While the Torrance (CA) Daily Breeze has now done 4
front page stories, on the murder of CDR. Risken, the
investigation & a special "Military Honors" Memorial
for the CDR, by his students and fellow teachers at
Lawndale H.S., our NAVY TIMES, for reasons unknown have not covered the murder of this fine Naval Officer
who beacame an effective teacher of challanged youth.

In April 2006, the NAVY TIMES did conduct three phone interviews with surviving Risken Family members. But then, for reasons unkown the NAVY TIMES spiked the story. An email query of mine to the TIMES was not answered. The memory of CDR. Risken and a quest for
justice over his murder deserve some publicity, IMHO.

On behalf of CDR Risken's surviving family in Olympia,
WA, I would like to locate any of his former shipmates
who might help me, in encourging the NAVY TIMES to report on this tragic murder and to Memorialize the
long honorable service of Commander Law L. Risken Jr.,
United States Navy Retired and Outstanding HS Teacher.

Respectfully,
Ed Hensley, USN Retired - Viet Nam Veteran
