Looking for shipmate during the 77-78 WestPAC

I need the date we crossed the equator. I became a Shellback but over time lost possession of my scroll and would like a replacement. (It's needed for the replacement) Can anyone assist me?

The date was 5 April 78. I got the information off of my scroll. What a day. Us "wogs' were whipped into shape in true Navy fashion. I'm Proud to say that "I'm a shellback". Although I never crossed the Equator again to get my "payback".
I beleive you can also check your dd 214 if you still have it.

We crossed on April 5th, 1978. You can also check your DD214 for the date. Press On!

I remember Capt Chatham saying that almost everytime he addressed the crew on the 1-MC or the Television.
