Jim, thanks for the information on USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63). Please note I have published Reunion information on the web site for all of those that want to become part of the Association. Thanks again Shipmate. Tom Williams, President, USS Kitty Hawk CV/CVA-63) Veteran's Association
I'm bummed. But that's the way it is. I hope the powers that be find a place where she can rest.
Docked, in a spot where folks can appreciate her.
Would be really bummed if they scraped her and sold the steel overseas.
Would be really upset as well if they sunk her to make a reef.
Hi Jim. Yep, sure do remember the times aboard the Hawk in the Pipe shop. I came on board in March 65 and left for another duty station in Nov. 67. Two fun cruises on one of the finer ships that the Navy ever aquired. Remember the first cruise? We were the first carrier to bomb Hanoi. Remember the working parties? Best partys I've ever attended, all-nighters I believe. Michael Faughn R-Div.
