I'm bummed. But that's the way it is. I hope the powers that be find a place where she can rest.
Docked, in a spot where folks can appreciate her.
Would be really bummed if they scraped her and sold the steel overseas.
Would be really upset as well if they sunk her to make a reef.

But you know Mike we had alot of time in the Pipe Shop from 64 to 67.

I hope they put the HAWK in a place that we can visit,maybe in New York or California,she was built in CAMDEN N.J Served 1963-1967 (V-3Div)....BILLT

Hi Jim. Yep, sure do remember the times aboard the Hawk in the Pipe shop. I came on board in March 65 and left for another duty station in Nov. 67. Two fun cruises on one of the finer ships that the Navy ever aquired. Remember the first cruise? We were the first carrier to bomb Hanoi. Remember the working parties? Best partys I've ever attended, all-nighters I believe. Michael Faughn R-Div.
