Boiler incident in 57-60 ?? Taken to Philly, PA

I have been told a story about my dad. I am hoping for some information if it is true. I was told back in 57 I think that my dad was asked to help redesign ? the boiler room on the Kitty Hawk. I have been looking all over to find out if this story is true. He was in the Navy since 39 and I think retired in 57 or so but he was still working at the Navy Yard at the time the Kitty Hawk came in 61 so there is a possibility that this story is true. Since I lost my dad in 69 ( I was 15) I really didn't get a chance to talk to my dad about his Naval service.
Any information would be appreciated.
Thank You

Re: Boiler incident in 57-60 ?? Taken to Philly, PA

as I was stationed abord KITTY HAWK CV-63 80-84 ;we (holes-nipes) we aware that the Main Machinery rooms were part of the hull that suffered a disaterous fire in the yards. Our ship "The Hawk" was actualy the Hull of the ill-fated Constellation CV-62 and it's original commission was bumped over to the Hawks hull. Thus the delay and repairs didn't show up in any Gov reports......Sooooo the Ranger CV61 Constellation CV62 and The Kittyhawk CV63 left the yards on time with only the yard birds and the Navy hushers the wiser.FYI check Hawks record for bad luck and deaths associated with her..interesting history
