Sorry for the intrusion here guys... but it was suggested by one of your members that I post a message here about the fate of the USS AMERICA. If you do not know. She has been stripped while sitting in Philadelphia Naval Ship Yard since she was decommissioned in 1996. She has been slowly stripped of everything. I was at her memorial service on Feb. 25th. The NAVY is sinking her off the coast of North Carolina into 6,000 feet of the Atlantic in April.

She is to be sacrificed to assist in the construction and design of future carriers to protect our future shipmates. You can read more about the sinking and the tests at my group. Click on the link.
