Apologies if I've been asleep and missed some official NASA posting but before I take an angle grinder to the class 5......does anyone know if the speculation regarding the elimination of 25mm x 25mm box section roll cages from the start of the 2015 season has been firmed up as of yet or is it still under consideration

25mm box should be gone by 2015.But I have heard they might change there minds again!!! if I were you or anybody building a new car I would not use 25mm cage because it will change!a.s.a.p, ok you have been warned.

does that include the floor frame,or is that ok..

good question ron! I would not build a new cage with any 1"box because they have said that it wont be allowed as any part of a roll cage! you make your own mind up,and I will wait for more information,

Thanks Mick....agreed, I wouldn't build a new cage but as I am already running 1" box.....as the rule change isn't planned to be in force until the start of 2015, I'll put the angle grinder on ice ....... at least until the 2014 rule book comes out and it says otherwise. Thanks, Mickey

The floor frame comes under the same rules as the roll cage and must be changed to equivalent tube type or 30mm box section for 2015.

This will obviously include any floor bars where they join a roll cage upright. The door bars are also subject to this new rule.
