Cheddar Reservoir

A single Bewick`s Swan briefly at 8.45am today before flying off over Axbridge and towards the Mendips (one of the recent Blagdon birds?) Also of note: 6 Red-crested Pochards (2 males, 4 females), 3 Goldeneyes and a Mediterranean Gull on the railings at the Cheddar Tower.

I did a count at Cheddar res today @ 12:30
Coot - 800c
Pochard - 78
Goldeneye - 3 ♀
Red-crested Pochard - 6 2♂ 4♀
NO TEAL
Wigeon - 6
Great Crested Grebe - 11
Little Grebe - 2
Shoveler - 1♂ splendid plumage
Med Gull - 1
Black-headed Gull - lots - toing and froing
Herring Gull - 47 washing
Common Gull - 7 among the HG
Lesser Black-backed Gull - 4 with the HG
Mallard - 4 on a patch of weed SW corner (I know it's a roundish tank but --)
Gadwall - 1♂

Late afternoon from Cheddar Tower. 6 RC Pochard, 3 Goldeneye, all female, and a bonus prize, a Black-necked Grebe.

2 male goldeneye among a growing number of Tufted duck, and Pochard ,2 pair of gadwall this sunday, Saturday AM presented two Teal amongst the above mentioned

On 1 December, mid afternoon, 5 pairs Red Crested Pochard, about 20 Goosander, 1 Goldeneye
