the Avalon hide (very nice) is open, as is the old railway line access to the reserve.

Great starling murmuration viewed from the new Avalon hide this afternoon. Plus a hunting barn owl and 2 marsh harriers.

I paid my first visit to the new hide yesterday morning and had a close view of a pair of Goosander that flew past. I can't remember seeing this species in Ham Wall before but I'm sure that others will have done.
