Those with long memories may just recollect that we reported a Blue ringed juv. Osprey HT6 flying over Meare Heath on Sept. 8th this year. Roy Dennis of Highland Ringing replied following day saying "Yes one of ours" and that he had passed my request for info to the Highland ringer who held relevant ring string. Just today received the following:-
"Thanks for sending on the sighting of Osprey HT6 BTO number 1459885 This bird was ringed in Loch Ard forest near Aberfoyle, Stirling in Central Scotland on 08/07/2015 from a brood of 2. This is a nest we beam live picture back to visitor centre, it’s always nice to know how they get on. Its sibling HT5 was picked up starving in Cornwall and sadly died in care.
Apologies for late reply."
Hopefully HT6 has fared better and made it further south to winter quarters
