Wryneck on Quantocks this morning

Hilary and I decided to visit the Quantocks this morning despite the unpromising weather and along a path at Black Hill above Holford Combe, I noticed several birds that turned out to be Stonechats plus one Whinchat on the gravel path ahead of us and then a Wryneck emerged from the heather to join them. I was able to watch it at fairly close quarters for a minute or so before it flew into some long grass and didn't reappear. Also 3 Wheatear and a Redstart in the same area so must be a migration route.
