A fine afternoon at Greylake yesterday (Sat 9th May).
4 baby Lapwings were running around below the newer hide and the parent birds were chasing away any bird that came close, including Marsh Harriers, Carrion Crows, a Mute Swan, and even a Redshank that landed closeby!
A Short Eared Owl was seen at the back of the reserve by Mike Tout, Hobbies flew over, a Bittern boomed, A Cuckoo called, Cetti's, Reed and Sedge Warblers sang and called everywhere but stayed elusive and a Stoat ran towards me on the grassy track to the far viewpoint and screen!
