Witnessed a 'food pass' between Marsh Harriers from the tower hide yesterday, a first for me!
Also a Bittern in flight in the sun!
A few Hobbies over the reserve, but quite high, much to the frustration of a lovely lady who had travelled down from Cardiff at 5am to photograph them flying low over the reeds!
I assume evenings are the best time for seeing this?
Hi.
I was out at Westhay last week around 9.30pm and had some amazing views of Hobbies flying low over the reeds, really close. Think they were after big chunky caddis flies and moths - as there were a lot flitting about in the reed tops and along the droves... the light would have been starting to get a bit poor by then for photography, however....
