Thurlbear wood

Fairly new to the County so was out exploring today around Thurlbear wood and quarry.

Nice to come across a Lesser Whitethroat just on the edge of the woodland,

The list of warblers was fairly steady throughout my visit with Garden Warbler, Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler all around with Whitethroat on the edge of the woodland.

Along the same hedgerow as the LW a Yellowhammer piped up, whilst a Skylark sang close by

Back within the wood the expected cast delivering their rich variety of calls and song included Great Spotted Woodpecker, Green Woodpecker, Nuthatch, Song Thrush, Goldcrest and Long-tailed Tit.

Over the quarry, Swallows through in squadrons, seemingly chasing each others tails as their darted through the air.
