A Red Kite SW over the car park at 9am heralded a good morning for raptors with many Marsh Harriers and Buzzards thermalling and displaying, with plenty of interspecific tussles. Also a male Peregrine was over Meare Heath.
Up to 200 Sand Martins were over Noah's Lake and constantly passing through, and by midday several hundred also over Waltons at Ham Wall, probably c1000 in total over both reserves.
