Very low tide this morning. 11.30am Single whimbrel out on the mudflats beyond the saltmarsh near Sand Point; also scattered curlew, oystercatchers; 10 shelduck feeding on the mud, and a flock of golden plover down by the water.
Incredibly early for a Whimbrel, probably the earliest record for the Avon recording area but nearly a month. To ensure the record is not lost can you please formally submit the record, with identification notes, to the Avon bird recorder. Thanks Rich M
