Male Firecrest - Hinton St George

One male Firecrest this afternoon feeding in hollies along the road out of the village at ST416126, north west of the church.

It was in the same holly trees as a male bird (presumably the same bird) found back in November 2014.

Best wishes

Firecrests - Hinton St George

Hi

The recent Firecrest in Hinton became Firecrests late this afternoon, with 3 birds (2 males plus 1 female type bird) feeding and interacting together in hollies along the side of the road which comes out of the village at ST416126, north west of the church.

Best wishes
James

Re: Firecrests - Hinton St George

Any recent sightings? You're not far from me (Barrington) and I've been fruitlessly looking around the village for two months trying to catch up with a firecrest that visited my garden briefly in December.

3 Firecrests again today - Hinton St George

Hi Alick

Yep three again this afternoon, between 16:50 and 17:25 and again in the Hollies along the road out of the village, NW of the church. The area of hollies just beyond the field gate seems to be a good area for them. Although they do range further into the adjacent woodland

Firecrest tend to get quite vocal before going to roost and the two males were calling and interacting together late this afternoon. Seems to be a good time of the day to catch up with them.

Plus a Barn owl over just after dark as I walked back through the Village.

Best wishes
James
