Coombe Hill Woods

One Brambling and several Siskin in a mixed flock of mostly Chaffinch quite near the carpark around midday today. All the commoner woodland species present including Marshtit.

Yes Paul, the woods are part of The Great Breach Wood off the minor road running SE from Marshalls End cross roads.

had a look this am,good no's Chaffy's and tits,but too much disturbance from dog walkers to pin down the brambling "mission impossible" in the end!

After four or five attempts we finally managed to track down the female Brambling in Combe Hill Wood this morning. It was with a very mobile flock of tits and Chaffinches moving around the area NW of the car park. Small groups of Siskins also scattered around the wood.
