In view of the comments re the path to Noah's hide I am concerned about the health and safety attitude of the RSPB.
Back in the Summer I had a potentially dangerous accident at the Tor Hide.
I sat down on one of the benches which promptly unended and fell heavily to the floor, complete with optics. I was very shaken and suffered a brusied arm and hand. It could have been far worse.
A gentleman in the hide at the time, whom I wish to make contact with, said that this had happened to several people before.
The friend I was with, an engineer, informed the RSPB that the benches were unstable because the overhangs were too long. These were subsequently sawn off.
However I am concerned that , as with the installation of the matting, these things are being sorted after the dangers are being brought to the attention of the RSPB. Surely they should be checked beforehand!
