Two of the Richard's Pipits were still along the track between Stolford and Hinkley. One was feeding in the area of grass between the timber fence and concrete track/boulders just over halfway towards Hinkley. Viewed from the higher of the paths it fed happily for over 2 hours. Also at least five Stonechats along this length and two Chiffchaffs around the cottages.
On the sea two Scaup, six Pale-bellied and two Dark-bellied Brent Geese and a total of 229 Pintail. In the distance the adult Little Gull feeding over the outfall at Hinkley Point.
Two Richard's Pipits still in the same area halfway to Hinkley Point at 11.30 today. They had earlier been seen at the Hinkley end of the large field but then flew back to the middle area, calling loudly, before settling to feed.
Jan 2nd: also 13 Common Scoter and 2 Scaup on the sea between Great Arch Outflow and Hinkley Pt, and 9 Brent Geese (5 pale-bellied) feeding on shoreline during incoming tide at Stolford, but no sign of the adult Little Gull among the many BHGs over the Power Stn outflow.
Good views of 1 Richards pipit mid pm in the long grass field nr cottages,also the adult Little gull by the outflow with BH gulls,the 2 Scaup were on the sea,though a bit distant.
