Say my fist goosanders of the season on the lower Huntspill this morning - 1 drake and 3 redheads between the Sloway Lane and A38 bridges. Also 1 SEO in the overgrown field by the sluice where it now seems to be a regular + plenty of avocets spread out on the opposite side of the Parrett.
About 80 avocets flying up and down the Parrett estuary in the sunshine at high tide this morning, also stonechats, redshanks, dunlin, curlew, shelducks, wigeon and teal, plus herons, little egret, male kestrel, and SEO back in its usual field.
