Catcott Lows, 09.11.14

Great white egret present approx. 1100-1200hrs.

2 marsh harriers overflying - one with green wing tag.

Fieldfares - group of about 20. Approx 100 lapwings, assorted wigeon and mallard and a large flock of starlings. Possible whinchat.

Green Tagged Marsh Harrier reg no. LI seen last Thursday 6 Nov. on Noah's Lake Shapwick has been reported and was seen again this (Mon). morning on Shapwick.

Green Tagged Marsh Harrier again over the Lows in the rain lunchtime today with 9 Golden Plover, 2 Ruff and 25 Lapwing . Very few duck just half a dozen Wigeon; 4 Shoveller and 20 Mallard.

Green wing-tag juv Marsh Harrier early pm circling in close formation with 2 other Marsh Harriers, also a single Water Pipit.

Mike, thank you for Hawk and Owl Trust link for reporting sightings of tagged marsh harriers. I wasn't aware of it so that was useful to know. Record submitted and also to bto bird track.
