This morning Flock of golden plover 320 counted ,100 chaffinches by the bridge with 2 brambling 5 ring ouzel bottom part of Valley, wood pigeons passing over in flocks of 40 to 50 at a time .
Be careful where you park if visting the salt bags have been put in place for the roads and the highland cattle like salt ,I came back to my car this morning cattle all around it and one nice dent in one of the rear doors who pays for the damage i am not sure i will see the national trust on monday morning their land and cattle so watch this space

The cattle belong to a local farmer not the National Trust. Their is a big argument going on about the issue of salt bags and ponies cattle etc eating the salt. The National Park will not allow the "yellow" type bins on the moor. We are hoping to have a trial of some wooden type bins shortly. Hope that this helps you.
