Herne Hill, Ilminster

Just sometimes there are a lovely range of birds to enjoy on Herne Hill, Ilminster.

This evening for a start there was huge flock of House Martins, catching insects above the Ash Trees.

There was a Raven (maybe 2) being mobbed by the local Jackaws. The evening roost of Jackaws and Crows seems to grow and grow and looks quite impressive at sunset.

The Maize field became alive with a large mixed flock of Blue Tits, Long Tail Tits and Chiffchaff.

3 buzzards flew overhead

and finally I spotted a pair of Goldcrests. (Not bad for 90 mins)

Pictures of the Raven and birds in the Maize field are in my Flickr site.
