Ring Ouzel

My 1st Ring Ouzel of the Autumn a male above Ember Combe Exmoor

Re: Ring Ouzel

No sign of Ring Ouzel at lunchtime today but a Red Kite flying high over Ember Combe heading WSW at 13.20 also 4 Kestrel in the area

Re: Ring Ouzel

Two male ring ouzels at Chetsford water this morning .

Re: Ring Ouzel

Somehow I missed you Russel as I was also at Chetsford Water, Exmoor for most of the morning. (Was that you photographing the ponies? tried not to disturb you.)

Waiting around for about 90 mins and saw at least 4 Ring Ouzels but they spent most of the time hidden in the Gorse bushes.

Also:

2 Kestrels
Buzzard
Goldcrest
Grey Heron (very surprised to see it coming into land)
Dipper
Chiffchaff
Stonechats
Half a dozen Reed Buntings on the moor looking down towards Nutscale Reservoir
Merlin which took a meadow pipit
Large flock of Golden Plover overhead

and also 6 birds, Mistle Thursh size, that dropped out the sky making the noise of runaway train... Haven't worked out what they were yet!!

Re: Ring Ouzel

Here a link to a very poor image of one of the birds dropping out of the sky
