Tawny Owl yesterday evening in our Garden Plum Tree making lots of noise!

Gave good views from our bedroom window 11.15pm last night. Second night running we have heard it but first time we looked as it was obviously very close, about 12 yards from our back door.

I heard a weird noise the other evening, sort of bubbling sound, that I couldn't identify. A couple of years ago, I phoned Bruce Taylor, saying I thought I had a Tengmalm's Owl in my back garden, and he reassured me that it was probably a young Tawny Owl practising calling. This was probably also a youngster trying things out. Others may be hearing similar confusing calls in early night time at the moment.
