1 Hobby (2nd Calendar year) - ranging widely quite high over the marshes, occasionally hawking insects. Move off SE.
1 Peregrine (juvenile female) - flew in low above the lagoons and kicked up c500 Black-headed Gulls. Soared low overhead - pristine feather condition. Rose up and made one half-hearted hunting flight after a Wood Pigeon, almost intercepted another that flew towards and underneath, via a vertical stoop. Continued her patrol SW out of sight.
5 Common Kestrel - hover-hunting over the marshes.
10 Common Buzzard - soaring singles and groups of up to four hawks.
Also:
4 Little Ringed Plover - adult and 2 young on main lagoon in front of 1st hide.
1100+ Black-headed Gull - roosting on the lagoons. Began to drift off in small groups until the Peregrine appeared and flushed the rest.
