A family of pied flycatchers on the slopes of cheddar gorge yesterday evening. Also 2 grey wagtails and a peregrine. And a single flyover crossbill at blagdon lake dam midday yesterday.

Oliver, a friend recently drew my attention to your sighting of a Crossbill at Blagdon Lake which I'm happy to include in the news, especially as it's the first the year. Thanks for reporting it, the birding has been slow so, it's good to add another species to the 2014 site list. Let's hope for some autumn migrants! Nige.
