Tim McGrath, Head Warden of WWT Steart Marshes, announced today that 2 pairs of Little Ringed Plover had bred successfully and produced 5 young at the site.
I saw one pair with two newly-hatched youngsters early this morning - they certainly earned 10/10 for cuteness!
I saw one LRP today from a viewpoint near one of the new hides that will soon be available at Steart. I then walked along to the bank of the Parrott and to my surprise, at 12.20, a flock of 7 Goosander flew up river past Combwich and out of sight.
