Mells Down

An unexpected day off work due to a burst pipe flooding the office so I paid a visit to Mells Down.

30+ Common Whitethroats in the area where I walked and more heard in the Edneys Farm area.

I am also advised there are decent numbers in the Stratton/Holcombe area.

Yellowhammers singing throughout and looking smart and glowing in the Sunshine

Chiffchaffs singing strongly, Blackcaps with much less gusto, Linnets, Stock Doves, Skylarks and Bullfinches all adding to the enjoyment.

No Willow Warblers heard but 2 were still singing at Downhead last weekend.
