Re: Purple Heron - Ham Wall

The Purple Heron, probably a 1st summer, flew west in the area well south of Walton Heath. It landed briefly on top of a tree before flying off this was about 07:30 this morning.

Re: Purple Heron - Ham Wall

I saw the same bird in the same area at 8.45 and having spent the morning in Shapwick was informed of another sighting subsequent to that time.

Re: Purple Heron - Ham Wall

On Tuesday 17th June while on duty at the 1st platform at
Ham Wall, had good views of a probable Purple Heron in flight mid morning over the reed bed, it headed towards the water tower and dropped down.
I reported it to warden Steve Couch and a couple of local birders.
