Mar 29: There was a Red Kite over Cinnamon Lane between 2.30 - 3.00pm - perhaps the same bird? It also was flying in a North- Easterly direction.
I have seen Kites on at least half a dozen occasions in the last year over the lane - a sign of their increasing numbers in our area perhaps.
Red kite east of A37 just north of Shepton Mallet 14:00 Sat 29th March. I've seen red kites in Wales and Buckinghamshire but was surprised to spot one near Shepton. Interested to see from posts on this site that there were severals other sightings on Saturday.
2 red kites over WWT Steart Marshes today, both heading north/east towards Steart village. First bird seen @ 11am sat on telegraph pole busily feeding, the second @ 3.30pm noted to have some flight feathers missing. Also notable movement of sand martins with scattering of swallow.
Red Kite seen at 4pm yesterday, April 2nd at Steart, drifting towards Burnham. An otherwise dull afternoon apart from a handful of swallows and house martins.
