Re: Cheddar Reservoir

several chiff caffs in the copse near sports ground, single house martin and a Sparrowhawk near the pumping station, and lonesome greenfinch close to the caravan park in Sharpham road

Re: Cheddar Reservoir

growing number of chiff chaffs around the cycle track area this morning ,around 10 calling, and 2 visible, one male black cap[1st this year] visible and two others audible only, greenfinches around the same track but audible only,a single thrush on the bank of the res near the pumping station, nothing of note visible on the water itself, was a rather fresh breeze blowing

Re: Cheddar Reservoir

much the same as my previous post with the addition of a very lively Goldcrest along the cycle path, and a welcome sight of around 20 house martins skimming the res.....one odd sight that of homo erectus @ 07:45 am with a glass of lager stood in the doorway of the boathhouse..scary stuff!!!

Re: Cheddar Reservoir

2 green woodys ,both together foraging on the ground about 10-6 feet apart, and a GSwoody, early doors along the upper part of the cycle path, 3 black caps and 1 songthrush in full voice

Re: Cheddar Reservoir

2 common sandipers this am close to the boat house, one tawny owl[audible] and a collection of blackcaps, long tailed tits and chiff chaff along the cycle path, also song thrush singing in the same tree as it has been for over a week

Re: Cheddar Reservoir

early doors[07:00] i seen what appeared to,in all but size a common sandpiper, this bird was somewhat larger[curlew-ish in size] on the wing it looked the same shape as the common, the sound was somewhat a duller tone than the shrill sound eminating from the common sand' colouring was around the same, and the beak was slightly longer ... any suggestions

Re: Cheddar Reservoir

4 common sand' this morning and 2 grey wagtails,
