Richard's Pipit, Wall Common, 3/03

Richard's Pipit this morning on Wall Common, from the track leading west from the stoned car park in the vicinity of the two tidal flaps. Heard calling in flight and then seen well on the ground for a few minutes - flew off but could not be relocated.

Great find, Dick.

At the Point this morning there was an immature Little Gull, a female Merlin and five Bar-tailed Godwits.

And still present this afternoon between 12:30 and 13:10, when seen in short flights and on the ground, ranging along the long, wet grassland between the obvious lone bush on the foreshore bank straight out from Wall Common Car Park to just west of the two tidal-flaps. When seen settled on the ground it was immediately west of the above bush on a bare patch just below the bank-top.
