Bramblings - Triscombe Stone

At least 40 Bramblings amongst a flock of over 800 Chaffinches feeding in the field and adjoining beech trees next to the car park at Triscombe Stone on the Quantocks. Four Crossbills flew over but there were others calling in the trees nearby.

Two male Bramblings in our Williton garden today, first of the winter. Usually we do well for Bramblings, but have been absent this year until now, perhaps to mild so far....?

Our first Brambling of the winter this morning. An aggressive male attempting to monopolise the sunflower heart feeder in our Butleigh garden.

Huge flock of 200-300 Chaffinches with some Brambling still present at Triscombe Stone at 12.30pm today

Flock is mobile, following the line of beeches from the Triscombe Stone car park up to 250m north-west towards Crowcombe

Male Brambling under the feeders in my Butleigh garden this morning. The same bird perhaps Chris.

Triscombe stone This morning 10 Brambling still present with up to 200 chaffinches along track towards crowcombe 300 yards from carpark

At a very windy Triscombe Stone Hundreds of Chaffinch and several dozen Bramblings feeding on the Beech mast Seeds along the wooded path towards Crowcombe Park they were also feeding in the ajoining field in the lee of the gale.
Earlier this morning a single Bonxie flew west out the Channel from Minehead
