Burrow bridge and Greylake

Photographing Burrow Mump from the bank of a very swollen river Parret I could hear a very vocal number of Cranes calling from the west side of the Stathe Road I estimate that they were probably at Stan Moor between the Stathe road and the railway line. returning to Greylake I found a Kestrel in the middle of the road, thinking it had been struck by a passing car I went to pick it up ,it did manage to fly up into the nearest tree and remained there watching me. Kestrels are having a difficult time with the widespread flooding and perhaps the bird is in a weakened state or it may have been that its flight feathers were soaking wet. Photo of the bird on website.
