Return of the G/S Woodies .....

On April 25th last year I reported the sight of half a dozen greater spotted woodpeckers in an oak tree on the far side of the road, opposite my window in the center of Bathpool, which turned up regularly every day for two or three weeks, and they appeared to be arriving from at least three different directions, and socialising, or possibly feeding together. No nesting attempt was seen in this tree, and eventually they moved on.
This morning, looking out of my window,I saw four G/S Woodies, again gathered in the same oak tree, and all appearing to be interacting socially.

Best Wishes,
Bill.
