Walked along the river Yeo from Long Load towards Ilchester this morning. Very extensive flooding to the north and south of the river and lots of birds, the best of which was a glossy ibis at the east end of the floods about 1.5km west of Ilchester. Other birds in the area were:
2000 Gloden plover
1200 lapwing
40 dunlin
30 snipe
3 green sandpiper
450 wigeon (1200 on 24/12)
200 teal
108 mute swan

No sign of the ibis yesterday afternoon but large numbers of lapwing, golden plover and dunlin were putting on a show.
