Despite finding only 19 avocet during the coordinated WeBS count on 8th Dec, Jeff H found 80 yesterday and today 117 birds were present upstream from the Huntspill outfall. (The flock must have been swimming on the high tide on the 8th, but certainly were not seen within the estuary).

You are correct, I saw approximately 30 swimming upstream of the Huntspill river outfall that morning at high tide around 11.30ish.
