Late this afternoon found a dipper on the stream running beside the road in Cheddar Gorge, downstream of the large pool. It was in full song - a very unexpected and pleasant surprise. Managed to observe it for several minutes before it took flight.

I lived in Bristol from 1969 to 1979 and then I moved to Greece where I have lived ever since. I am a birdwatcher, a member of the Greek Ornithological Society, and I came across your site today. In Bristol, I worked for a couple of years in a school with someone called Sue Caola, who I know was always very interested in wildlife. I am wondering if this is the same Sue, and if it is I think I would like to get in touch again - after 35 years!
