Ravens

Time spent this morning in our Garden Sky Watching;

20 Ravens in the air together. Some interesting behaviour observed. One, of the Ravens (possibly one of this years breeders) moved around the area, including in peoples gardens, cronking wildly as if to seem territorial. However for the past few weeks numbers of Ravens have typically been 7-17 but today there may have been as many as 40 birds present in total.

37 Meadow Pipits perched on the electrical wire next to our house with the small field next to ours holding 160 Mipits and at least another 200 in nearby fields.

A single Redwing through, one was heard on Tuesday evening during the Bake off Programme - more enjoyable being stood in the garden than sitting through that! Sorry Bake off fans.

1 Siskin over
23 Swallows through inc 5 which 'hung around' for a bit

A Raptor of which I did not get enough on to identify, very frustrating as I have tried for years to get a Honey Buzzard on my garden list. I picked up on it too late and as it moved away I had a sort of deflating feeling that a golden opportunity had been missed.
