West Moor .....

This afternoon I walked across West Moor from Knapp Bridge (GR ST30170 26050)to Charleton Bridge (GR ST29099 26566)along the footpath beside the River Tone. The sky was alive with House Martins, interspersed with a moderate number of Swallows. About halfway along the path I also noted a female Wheatear which flew off in an easterly direction. Other birds of interest were six Cormorants which were perched on the power lines, two Herons, a small flock of Goldfinches, and a few small groups of Meadow Pipits.

Best Wishes,
Bill.
