After the delight of finding breeding Moorhens near the back of our house during the bank holiday weekend, I was surprised to find 2 pairs of Great Grested Grebes with 4 well grown young between them about a mile from Coleford this evening at Vobster Quarry.

Fantastic to watch them catching fish and feeding young, at one point 40 yards away. I had no idea how noisy they are!

A brood of Mallards, 2 Moorhens, 3 Coot also present.
